My Work
After the fire on our ranch, I started volunteering at the local fire department. This is out on the Apache Pass fire that burned through our neighbor's pasture.
May 1st is the day we brand our calves, vaccinate, and the first day we get to put them on BLM pasture.
Feeding cows off the stack in our calving lot in March.
This is the first Brahma calf that I've ever pulled in our calving pen. I had to take a picture of those ears.
Out working acres and acres of dry land alfalfa in the summer to feed our cows through the winter.
View of the cows from horseback during a typical day at work.
I enjoy taking photos and thought this was a fun view of all the hay we had to get ready to feed. It takes a lot more work in the winter time to do the everyday chores.
Catching another sunset while bucking hay after another 16 hour day.
Watching a sunset from the tractor.
Enjoying the best of a bad situation. When it rains you can't cut the hay so I just enjoying a rainbow while waiting for the hay to dry.
Fun view of all the calves eating.
This is the second cutting from one of our circles in July. We get about 2,200 bales and it takes about 16 hours to haul them all off.
A cold, windy, snowy day feeding cows watching the snow drift off our calving barn.
Another day in paradise out on the ranch.
An unexpected arrival in January.
Back to work feeding the cattle on a weekend break from my Northwest media tour in February 2013.
